NYAROC Leaf Tour – Sunday, October 13, 2013

The clubs leaf tour for 2013 was held in scenic Westchester & Putnam Counties. The route included drives around the lower NYS Reservoir system. Participants in this year’s event included a LI contingent of John & Cornelia Catera, Dino Pappous, Dave Rivkin & Rhoda, Vinny Lambroia & Cheryl, Vic & Gail Cerami, Bert & Peggy Wong and Hayden & Colleen Iglesias. We were joined by Santi Spadaro of Dominick’s European Car Repair in White Plains, Matt Jones from Westchester & John & Maria Dubaz from Ct.

The LI contingent left at 8:00a.m. and caravaned to the Imperial Wok parking lot in North White Plains, N.Y. where we met up with the Westchester & Ct. Alfisti. Following a drivers meeting at 9:15a.m., the group was off on the Leaf Tour by 9:30a.m. The morning started out overcast & cold but improved every minute of the drive. As we headed North, we passed the Kensico, Cross River & East Branch Reservoirs. The Fall colors were spectacular. Our drive took us thru Brewster and around the Middle Branch & Croton Falls Reservoirs. Our caravan continued the drive around the Titicus, New Croton, Amawalk and finally the Boyds Corner Reservoir’s. The latter had one of the most spectacular stone causeways on the route.

We continued on twisty Alfa roads on Rte 301 North and then headed back South on the Teconic State Pkwy which was in peak color. Our drive back to White Plains took us to Emma’s Ale House for lunch.

We were fortunate that the weather cooperated and made the leaf tour a resounding success. A great time was had by all Alfisti.

Special Thanks to Gail Cerami, Peggy Wong & Bert Wong for tour photos

Lunch at Cafe Giulia - April 21st 2012

NYAROC invited fellow Alfistis from the local AROC chapters (AROC-CT & AONE) to join them for a fantastic lunch at Cafe Giulia. Preceding the lunch was a scenic drive, following was a visit to Alfas Unlimited. Unfortunately chef and owner of Cafe Giulia Rober Willis passed away only two months after our visit.
