AROC NAtional Convention 2026

The AROC National Convention for 2026 was held in Utah at the very interesting city of Ogden. Named "Le Montagne Chiamano", (The Mountains are Calling). There were more and bigger mountains everywhere.

The Utah AROC-Bonneville Chapter hosted and did everything great. They had a very nice turnout, great weather, absolutely amazing road tours, tech sessions with Keith Martin (Sports Car Market ), Dino Crescenti (Motorsport), Anthony Rimicci (Santos), Ian Cartabianco (Lexus Design), and others.

Ant Anstead who is known for TV shows including Motor Trends "Wheeler Dealers" was the guest speaker at the Banquet. He wrote a book about his Alfa love and actually building a tribute 1930's Alfetta 158 which was also televised and incredible. But most memorable was his entertaining performance where he spoke and engaged in numerous stories, gags and audience participations. Ant flew to Utah, although he was in the middle of filming in England, just to attend the convention and had to return immediately upon ending his speech, but he still mingled with us and took pictures. He was a very good sport.

Highlights of the Alfa Romeos at this event included at least 3 RZ's, several SZ's (including a prototype), Mr. Shirley's '32 8C 2300 Touring supercharged spider, several Giulia/Giulietta SS's, a Montreal and numerous GTV's, Spiders, Alfettas, Supers, Berlina's, GTV-6's and many modern Alfas.

NYAROC members present were Rob Rizzo (Webmaster), Vic and Gail Cerami, AROC Legal Counsel George Pezold, AROC VP Mike Bange and AROC Board Member Frank LaSala and his wife, Mary. We all enjoyed many events . Most Alfisti attending were from the mid-west and west-coast, with a few from NJ, CT and New England.

We also attended the AROC Board meeting where next year’s convention in Virginia was presented for July 26 to August 1, 2027, featuring Giulia. It appears to be shaping up to be a good one and its a days drive away!
