The weather is not working in our favor this year, and rain is again in the forecast for this Sunday. I have been in communication with the Center for Italian studies all week, and after several discussions today, we had no choice but to cancel the Concorso for this Sunday Sept 20. This was a difficult decision, but in the end, it just does not make sense to have an outdoor Concorso in the rain, limiting vehicle and spectator participation. This is the first time in 20 years that we had back-to-back weekends spoiled by rain requiring the show to be cancelled. Unfortunately, the weather is not in our control. It's a shame because we had over 120 vehicles registered, with over 40 Alfas! We discussed other possible options like moving the event to Saturday, or perhaps finding another date in October or November. However, due to other pre-existing commitments on the part of the University, the Center for Italian Studies, and the car clubs, we were not able to secure another date that would work for all this year. The plan is to reschedule the Concorso to the fall of 2027.
